About Donald Gene Floro, 82, of Genoa, Ohio, died Wednesday, June 30, 2010, at Mercy-St. Charles Hospital, Oregon, Ohio. He was born October 7, 1927, in Genoa, Ohio, to Dewey and Luella (Burkett) Floro. Donald graduated from Genoa High School and was a U.S. Army veteran. On December 16, 1972, in New Jersey he married Florence Murray and she survives. Donald worked as a maintenance supervisor for the United States Gypsum Company for 34 years, retiring in 1987. Donald was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Genoa, the Allen-Clay Joint Fire District Station #3, American Legion Post #324 of Genoa, Zenobia Shrine of Toledo, and the Masonic Lodge F & AM #433 of Genoa. Donald enjoyed fishing, hunting, and cooking. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. In addition to his loving wife of 37 years, Florence (Murray-Kozak) Floro, he is survived by his brother, George A. Floro; steps sons, Mike Driver and Larry Kozak, step daughter, Janet Kozak; step grandchild, Heidi Shank; two step-great grandsons, one step-great-great granddaughter; special friend to family, Lori Neubert; special fishing buddies, friends and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Robert Floro and nephew, Michael Floro. Visitation will be 2:00-8:00 p.m. with family present 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., Friday, July 2, 2010, in the Robinson-Walker Funeral Home & Crematory of Genoa. The Allen-Clay Joint Fire District Station #3 will conduct services at 7:00 p.m. and the Masonic Lodge F & AM #433 will conduct services 7:30 p.m. both on Friday evening at the funeral home. A memorial service will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 3, 2010, in the funeral home; interment will follow in Clay Township Cemetery, Genoa, with the Genoa American Legion Post #324 conducting military graveside services.
