About Me	After graduation from Garinger, I attended UNCC where I obtained a BS in Chemistry and a BA in Political Science in 1973. In 1978, I obtained a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana. My entire professional career has been in chemistry and mostly in Illinois. Since 2008, I have worked for Orochem Technologies in Naperville, IL, where I am a Research Fellow and Director of Chemistry. My expertise is in organic synthesis, liquid chromatography, and polymer science. Over the years I have had several inventions (52 US patents), publications in professional journals, and professional presentations. I guess that my Geek Ratio is pretty high, but it has been fun and rewarding. In 1976, I married Cynthia, an Illinois girl, and we have three grown children. Fortunately, Cindy is a tolerant woman and we are still married. In my spare time and when I am not trying to maintain the house, car, or whatever, I like to play guitar and banjo and sing folk music and bluegrass.
