My memories of growing up in Garfield Heights are highlighted, as well as mentioning a few of my classmates. These books are written so that you may relate to adversities in life and be encouraged that faith can pull you through.

New Book On Ohio Wrestling About Garfield Alumni Legend Mike Milkovich
What happens when Dellinger Award winning writer Jim Kalin interviews America’s greatest wrestlers about one of the most legendary coaches in any sport, National Wrestling Hall of Fame member Mike Milkovich? The result is Mustang.
Milkovich was only the third high school coach ever to be inducted into the National Wrestling Hall of Fame, and his Maple Heights Mustangs captured ten Ohio State Championships and finished runner-up eight times.
Milkovich wrestled for Garfield and was a state champion. The book also includes stories and anecdotes about former coach Pat Palumbo and wrestlers like Gene Sokol, Ron Angello, and more.

Caring for aging parents? Looking for resources and information to help aging loved ones? Recently retired and looking to define the next phase of your life? Come and join The Home Repair Resource Center at the 2016 "BoomerFest" Keynote speaker Atty. Laurie Steiner will discuss proactively redefining your life to your needs and desires. There will be workshops on topics like aging in place, Flex Design, sharing your time and talents through volunteer organizations and a whole lot of fun. Meet service providers that can advise on tropics from making senior home modifications to locating support and services to help with aging loved ones. This event is free to the public.

Alumni Jazz Ensemble Returns!
After the success of last year’s concert, the GHHS Alumni Jazz Ensemble “Swings Again,†to provide an evening of big band music for your enjoyment!
The concert will be held on Sunday, October 11, 2009 at 7:30 p.m. in Matousek Auditorium at Garfield Heights High School. Directed by Michael Shively, the ensemble features special guest and world renowned clarinetist/saxophonist, Ken Peplowski.

Join us for a very special concert event!
presenting the GHHS Alumni Jazz Ensemble, featuring New York-based jazz clarinetist/saxophonist (and alumnus) Ken Peplowski, and celebrating the retirement of Michael Shively after 33 years of dedicated service to the Garfield Heights City Schools and community.
The concert will be held Saturday, April 5, 2008 at 7:30pm at the Garfield Heights Center for Performing Arts (located on the High School campus)
Tickets are only $10 for adults, $5 for seniors (62 & over), $3 for students (with valid high school ID), and free for children (14 & under). We are also accepting general donations, ad sponsors for the program, and you may purchase space in the program to print a personal message to Shives.
