Navy, 9 Years
Served in the Navy and am a Vietnam Era Vet. I was stationed at Naval Air Station Coronado, where I was assigned to the Boats and Docks division. I was there for one year, when I was then transferred to Sea Duty aboard the USS Leonard F. Mason DD-852 that was attached to Destroyer Sqoudron 7. During the two years aboard her, I went on 3 Western Pacific Cruises, that included, Hawaii, Guam, Midway Island, Subic Bay in the Phillipines, and Tokyo Japan, and Yokasuka Japan, and also Hong Kong, China, when Hong Kong was still a republic of Britain thru a 100 year lease that has since been given back to China. While on board my job classification was one of a Fireman/DamageControl/HullMaintenanceTech/Welder..After I was discharged I finished serving out my three year reserve duty and then in 1984 re-enlisted and was then classified as a SeaBee with the rate of a UtilitiesMan with a second class petty officers rank of E-5..I was Honorably Discharged twice under Honorable conditions. I am very proud of my service to the United States of America and the United States Navy and will always cherish the time that I gave in support to our great country..
