LTC John Ring
Class of 1990
Army, 20+ Years
John graduated from West Point in 1994 followed by flight school in 1995. He is an Army Aviator qualified in the Huey, Kiowa, and Blackhawk helicopters. He has deployed to combat multiple times and is currently working as the Land Domain Chief in the NORAD-USNORTHCOM Command Center in Colorado Springs, CO which is responsible for the defense and protection of North America. John was recently awarded the Combat Action Badge and the Bronze Star Medal for his actions while deployed to Iraq.

Served active duty from 1987-1993 stationed at Beale AFB, CA as an Aerospace Ground Equipment Mechanic. Transfered to Reserves in 1993 and served till Jan/2012 in an Aeromedical Evacuation Squadron as a Medical Admininistrative Superintendent, retired as a Senior Master Sargent, spending the 6 months of 2011 in Afganastan.

Graduated from the Coast Guard Academy in 1979. Assigned to polar icebreaker Northwind, then Loran Station Kure Island. Spent next seven years inspecting ships in the ports of Baltimore and New York City. Received my Master's Degree in Physics and taught physics at the Coast Guard Academy. Ended my career in 1999 working in the port of Providence, RI.

Much loved career, flew into every continent and Viet Nam every year from 1960 to 1974. Operation Deep Freeze 1969 and 1971. TDY to Châteauroux AB, France six months 1963 in C-124s.
