| About | This is Michelle. Dad had asked me to post his final status for him when the time came. He began his final motorcycle ride on the highway to heaven on March 12, 2013 at 4:55 pm. A celebration of his life will be held Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 11:00 am. Foothills Christian Church 365 West Bradley Ave El Cajon, CA 92020 Pastor Jim Self will be officiating. He was the Chaplin we met during the palliative care meeting last week. He was a Godsend to Dad and reassured him about his spiritual end of life journey. There was an immediate connection between them that was amazing. He sat with Dad and the family several times and shared many awesome stories. Once again, Thank you to everyone for all your thoughts and prayers during Dad's battle. SAN DIEGO, CA: Ronald Eugene Growel, 61, formerly of Fremont, OH passed away on March 12, 2013 in San Diego, CA. He was born on April 15, 1951 in Fremont, the son of H. Lee and Patricia (Ferguson) Growel. He was a 1969 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Ron loved his family, the outdoors and motorcycles. His smile, sense of humor, personality and Christianity were what made him such a special person. Ron is survived by his children, Micheal (Nikki Jones) Growel of North Carolina, Michelle (Brian) Rhineberger of Medina, OH, Ronda Zeoli of Ohio; step-mother, Phyllis (Danford) Growel of Fremont, OH; siblings, Julie (David) Ramga of Florida, Connie (Charles) Nartker of North Carolina, Terri (Dan Kaiser) Growel and David (Jacqueline Reardon) Growel both of Fremont, OH; seven grandchildren, and eight nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; grandparents, Chester and Ruth Ferguson, Carl and Mabel Growel; grandson, John (Green) Growel. A Celebration of Life Service was held at Foothills Christian Church on Thursday, March 14, 2013 in San Diego, CA.
