About MT PLEASANT, MI: Charles Valentine Dymond II, age 59, of Mt. Pleasant formerly of Tucson, AZ and Fremont, OH, passed away Thursday, December 20, 2012.

A Memorial Service for Charlie will be held at the Central Assembly of God on Saturday, December 29, 2012, at 12 noon with Pastor Joe Wentworth and Rev. Nancy Casey-Fulton officiating. The family will receive friends from 11a.m. until the time of service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Woodland Hospice or to his wife, Judi. Envelopes will be available at the funeral chapel and the church. A Memorial Service in Fremont, OH will follow at a later date.

Charlie was born on June 6, 1953 in Fremont, OH, the son of Charles and Betty (Cutcher) Dymond. He married Judi Davis on October 17, 1981 in Tucson, AZ. Charlie graduated from Fremont Ross High school in 1971. He was a National Merit Scholarship winner and member of National Honor Society. He was also a member of the drama club, national forensic league at which it took fifth place in the state for original oratory. His love for library work began in Junior High and was ultimately his life work. Charlie received two Master's degrees from University of Arizona; they were in library sciences and creative writing. He worked for the University of Arizona library, where he was a research librarian and a teaching assistant to many professors. As a research librarian and teaching assistant he was well respected by staff and students. Miss Vi his first grade teacher, Mr. Jack Chapin his senior high drama teacher and speech coach, and Don Dickenson were a few of his mentors and beloved friends.

Although, Charlie suffered from polio at a young age, he had a very fulfilling life full of love, adventure and creativity. He had a passion for writing poetry and the literary arts. Throughout his life he had multiple teachers and professors that inspired his creativity and love for poetry and writing. With their help and inspiration Charlie was a published poet.

Charlie is survived by his wife of 32 years, Judi of Tucson, AZ; children, Christina (Michael) Mills of Columbus, OH, Leslie (Doug) Carey of Columbus, OH, Lester (Coreen) Carter of Erie, PA, and Carol Pinto of Tucson, AZ; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Lou (Dan) Howard of Mt. Pleasant, MI, Carl "Joe" (Sharon) Dymond of Tiffin, OH, Michael (Lorrie) Dymond of Fremont, OH, Carol (James) Parker of Fremont, OH, Cheryl (Nate Bryant) Clarke of Elgin, Ok; and many nieces and nephews.

Charlie was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Susie Jo; and loyal pets, Taylor and Priscilla.

Charlie's family would like to thank the Woodland Hospice and Dan and Lou Howard for all of their support and care these past few months.
