About	MYRTLE BEACH, SC: Manfred P. "Fred" Straube passed away in Waccamaw Hospital in South Carolina on 9/11/12. Manfred was born in Germany on September 10, 1952 to Heinz & Margarete (Wuersig) Straube. He came to the U.S. in 1957, settling in Fremont, Ohio. He was a 1970 graduate of Fremont Ross High School and a graduate of BGSU. He was very active in coaching baseball teams in Fremont for many years. He also owned an insurance business preceding his move to Myrtle Beach in the mid 1990's. Surviving Manfred are his sons, Eric of Myrtle Beach, SC and Michael (Liz) Straube of Murfreesboro, TN; brothers, Peter (Barbara) of Toledo, OH and Uwe (Sue) of Clyde, OH; nephew, Ryan (Amanda) Straube and niece, Erika (Greg) Boyes of Brunswick, OH. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral arrangements were handled by Myrtle Beach Funeral Home, with a Memorial Service being held on Saturday, September 15th. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude's Hospital. Published in the The News-Messenger on September 14, 2012
