About OAK HARBOR: Terrance "Terry" A. Smith, 62, of Oak Harbor Rd, Oak Harbor, OH, passed away on Wednesday, June 30, 2010 at his brother-in-law's home in Fremont surrounded by his family.

He was born on December 31, 1947 in Fremont to Dale and Mildred (Inks) Smith. He was a 1966 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. Terry served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War where he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal. He married Patricia "Pat" Wonderly on November 15, 1973 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Millersville, OH and she survives. Terry was a Sub Station Attendant at First Energy for thirty-three years and retired in 2009. He had worked for the first twelve years at the Davis Besse Nuclear Power Plant. Terry was a member of the Electrical Workers Union in Toledo, OH. He enjoyed flea markets, garage sales, auctions, collecting tools, model trains, tinkering with small machines and had plans to restore two tractors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Terry is survived by his wife, Patricia Smith, Oak Harbor, OH; sons, Michael David Smith, Oak Harbor, OH, Brian Alan (Celena) Smith, Shelby, OH; sister, Hazel G. Holcomb, Pemberville, OH; grandchildren, Zane Shirk and Dominic Smith.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers-in-law, Merle Holcomb, Mark A. Wonderly; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Wonderly, and Jane Wonderly.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St., Fremont, OH

Service will be Saturday, July 3, 2010, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of Memorial Hospital.
