About Thomas B. Gruver, 65 of CR 212 Fremont, died Thursday morning at Elmwood Nursing Home in Green Springs. He was born in Fremont on April 21, 1942 to Blake & Ann (Anton) Gruver. Thomas was a 1960 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. He entered the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Norris during the Cuban Missile Crisis. Thomas worked as an advertisement salesman for the Fremont News Messenger and the Fostoria Review Times; until his retirement in 2006. He was an active member of Hayes Memorial United Methodist Church, American Legion, V.F.W., Eagles and Moose Lodges. He loved Minnesota Twins baseball, Ohio State Buckeye and Dallas Cowboys football. Thomas also enjoyed Civil War history; in which he often attended the re-enactments here in Fremont and traveled to the different battlefield sites. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Thomas is survived by his daughters, Susan Barrick of Columbus, Lori (Scott) Welty of Bellevue, Debra (Doug) Champine of Columbus, grandchildren, Lindsay, Dane, Morgan, Bailey, Tommy, Nicholas, Molly, sisters Diane (Richard) Hanny of Fremont, Brenda Albert of Fremont, his wife Cheryl Gruver of Green Springs and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM from Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 South Arch Street Fremont.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 10:00 AM from Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home with Pastor Lowell Peterson officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Jacobs Cemetery in Republic with military graveside rites preformed by the American Legion and V.F.W.
