About	Ruth M. "Babe" Willey August 2, 1946 ~ July 31, 2008 Ruth M. "Babe" Willey, 61, of Fremont died Thursday evening at Bellevue Hospital. She was born in Toledo on August 2, 1946 to William and Ruth (Behan) Randolph. Ruth grew up in Lindsey and was a 1964 graduate of Fremont Ross High School. She continued her education to obtain both her Bachelor of Education and Master of Education degrees from the University of Toledo. She married James A. Willey on June 27, 1969. Ruth was a teacher for over thirty years. She taught Biology at Fremont Ross for 25 years, where she served as Head of the Science Department and Science Club Advisor. During her time there, she transformed a courtyard into a garden, which was recently dubbed "Babe's Garden" in her honor. In her retirement, she taught Biology at Terra Community College. Ruth was a very avid tennis player. She loved the outdoors, bird-watching, and traveling, which most recently consisted of a voyage to South America to take in the culture of the Machu Picchu and to tour the Galapagos Islands. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the National Association of Biology Teachers, the Science Education Council of Ohio, and the Evolution and the Nature of Science Institutes. Ruth was very proud of her sons and loved spending time with her Jack Russell Terrier, Rosie. Surviving Ruth are her husband James of Fremont, sons John R. (Lori) Willey of Fremont and Robert J. Willey of Nara, Japan, brothers, Farnham (Ruth Ann) Randolph of Gibsonburg, Richard (Valma) Randolph of Lindsey, Philip (Peggy) Randolph of Lindsey and Charles (Mari) Randolph of Sydney, OH, sisters Ann E. Randolph of Sylvania, OH, Suzy (Charles) Miller of Roswell, GA and Rita (David) Isaacson of North Granby, CT, along with many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home, 416 South Arch Street. A brief prayer service will follow the visitation with Deacon Norbert Wethington officiating. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday at 11:00AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with Father William Pifher officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery Memorials in Ruth's name may be made to the Terry Community College Foundation Scholarship Fund.
