US Army Rotary Wing Flight School and Instructor Pilot School; Served two consecutive tours in South Vietnam - Feb 1969 - Sep 1970 with 1st Aviation Brigade - 268th Aviation Battalion - 196th ASHC Flipper (CH-47 Chinook). Served in South Korea 1972 - 1973. Served with 101st Airborne Division 1973 - 1974; Served in Indiana and Texas Army National Guard until Sep 1997.
Decorations - Bronze Star with one oak leaf cluster, Air Medal with 21 oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Armed Forces Expedionary Medal, Army Commendation Medal, various other service and achievement medals/ribbons. During my career I flew the following helicopters - CH-47 Chinook, UH-1 Huey, OH-58 Kiowa. TH-55 Osage, OH-23 Raven, CH-34-Chocktaw, AH-1 Cobra and OH-13

I served on the USS Paul F. Foster (DD-964). During Operation Desert Storm, we departed our normal battle group, Battle Group Echo, to get on station inside the Persian Gulf. We arrived on my 21st birthday (Jan. 12, 1991). Three days later we fired the first tomahawk during Desert storm. This was Jan. 15th local time zone, Jan. 16th back in the states. I was award the Navy Acheivement Medal and Combat Action Ribbon amoung others. Our ship was responsible for sinking 7 Iraqi patrol boats as well as detecting and destructing many surface contact mines.
