Alumni Stories
Catherine Ann Kiernan- Harralson
Class of 1970
I remember the Nelson girl's and a few other gal's and myself included. The Nelson's started a club! "For the Life of me, I cannot remember the name". Our jackets were powder blue with pale pink lettering.
And a male friend of mine who I had such a crush over. Daryl Leedy and his boys had their club, and their jackets were black with white lettering.
At the time I felt we stepped back in time to Sandra De and John Travolta in the movie "Greece" we were cool then with our jackets and all.
We unfortunately didn't last very long, both Debbie and Linda made on Cheerleader and song girl. And Yeah!! Debbie was our Home coming Queen. What a memory to share with your grand babes.
My little sis and I went out for Drill team, we had to bow out, do to financial issues at the home front.
But that didn't stop me,
I enrolled in Concert Chior for 3 years. With the highest vocal chords singing at Descant! Now I am lucky I can carry a n Alto. As many of you probably aren't aware I married Steven Cooper and we had two beautiful daughters. Angela Marie Cooper and Christie Le Cooper. If any of you gals out there were in the club and remembers our club name, will you please drop me a line.
Oh!! Lastly I joined the pep club and we all sat in the bleachers at Hintington High school and cheered our guys on the field! And with my parents sitting down from us shapperroning from a far...back then the rule in our house no dating until we turned 18. So it was patents drive a few of us to the dance and home.
Remember our dress code!!
Who remembers wearing nylons to school?
Well enjoy reading this bit of Nestalia.
Love to all
Blessings
