Hello All,
This is Doug Stone and I was kind of a stinker in HS. Not a mean person just mischeivous. I often found myself in a lot of trouble and don't really know how I graduated. I've always suspected they just got tired of me at FLHS and didn't want me back another year. I'm not sure you'd remember the night of graduation. There were tornados, and trees were nocked down all over town and my dad and I had to detour 2 or 3 times to get to the HS. As I got out of there car, my dad said, "Doug, I knew all hell would have to break loose for you to graduate." That said, I moved to Louisiana and after 6 months of attending church, I accepted Jesus Christ as my savior. I went on to 4 years of Bible College and went to work for IBM for several years. To get into college, I had to write my HS Principal asking for a reference. That scared me to death as Floyd C. Cohous and I were on a 1st name basis. I wrote the letter and prayed. I was accepted and it was a great experience for me. I am married now nearly 48 years with 4 kids and 12 grandkids. For the past 13 years I've been working with a GAP year ministry, GlobalYear.org, where we find graduating seniors from all around the USA, put them on teams, train them, help them raise their support, and send them somewhere in the world to work with a missionary for 9 months the fall after graduating. Not sure why I blabbed all this, but thought I'd tell someone that may have remembered me somewhat and tell them,,, "The rest of the story." God is good.
