William "Billy" Edward Collum

Billy was a Captain in the US Army as a helicopter pilot. He was 101st Airborne Division B Troop 2nd 17th Calvary Regiment while in Vietnam. He was shot down in Asha Valley on 23 April 1971 where he remained trapped due to heavy enemy fire and died on Sunday, 25 Apr 1971. He would have been 23 years old on 6 July '71. The Ocala Federal Building is named in honor of Billy -
