| About Me | My family sold our business, Pennsylvania Liquor in 1984 and I went into law enforcement first with the Fontana Police Department then moving to Bullhead City, Arizona working for their new police department. I lived and worked there for 15 years and worked all aspects of law enforcement, patrol, detectives, gangs, motor officer, river patrol and rescue diver. I got bored, crossed the river and went to work in Las Vegas promoting to Sergeant. Trish Radford and I married in 1985 and separated in 1993, we had one child, a daughter. Janna graduated from Colony High School and is now living near us in Marion. She received her degree in history from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids with plans on continuing graduate school in the future. I got remarried to Tammy Higdon; she worked in our city attorney's office. I saw her every morning as I brought in the custody's or police reports. That was 1996; we have two boys Kyle 17 a senior at Linn-Mar High and Jeremy 14 a freshman. Both play baseball, soccer and football. Kyle has been playing the guitar since he was 10; Jeremy has been playing the drums since he was 7. Thank goodness they like 80's music and want to be the next Van Halen brothers. I left Las Vegas and returned to Arizona working in the Phoenix area until my retirement promoting to Commander of Support Services Division. I was responsible for the Communications, Records, Detentions, Animal Control and Code Enforcement Bureaus. Things were interesting in Phoenix and I ended up working for a concert promoter as tour security in my off duty time. Unfortunately he booked rap acts; fortunately some of them were fun. I was on tour with 50 Cent and G-Unit for awhile. I had my own security and investigations firm after retirement doing backgrounds for the federal government and providing security for American owned properties in Rocky Point, Mexico. Phoenix was turning into LA so I sold the business and moved to Marion (Cedar Rapids) Iowa, which is where my wife is from.
