Dr. Kenneth P. González is University Professor of Education at the University of San Diego. He also serves as a coach for the national initiative: Achieving the Dream, where he guides colleges in institution-wide, student success initiatives. Dr. Gonzalez’ research examines the experiences of underrepresented and low-income students in higher education and appears in the Journal of College Student Development, the International Journal of Qualitative Research in Education, the Journal of College Student Retention, Urban Education, and the Journal of Hispanic Higher Education. He serves on editorial boards for the Journal of College Student Development, the Journal of Hispanic Higher Education, and the Journal of the First Year Experience and Students in Transitions. Dr. Gonzalez is the author (with Raymond V. Padilla) of a new book, titled “Doing the Public Good: Latina/o Faculty and Civic Engagement.”
