Robert (Bobby) Sylvester
Class of 1990
Bobby Sylvester is the only athlete to ever be awarded CIF Player of the year in Fontana's history in any athletic sport. He was awarded this in 1989. This award was given to the athlete who coaches and writers felt was the best athlete representing their sport.
He was an All CIF Southern Section slection for the 1989 season and represented the school in the Shrine Game for the best football players in California.
He was an intregal part of the class that won 2 State Football championships, 1987 & 1989, as well as National Honors in 1987 as the #1 team in the country. He still holds the tackle record at Fotana High School for defensive unassisted tackles.
