Elizabeth (Tiz) Wehner, passed-on in April 2013, as this headstone confirms. She had lung cancer, but worked until the last possible day in the US Treasury Department, after her twenty year career, at the Office of Foreign Assets Control.
She had made good use of her UW Madison studies in international relations, as well as her graduate degrees; GWU, Government Administration and Georgetown U, Public Policy.
Liz worked directly with Executive Orders for freezing the assets and transactions of foreign drug lords, terrorists, and other malefactors.
I did not send this information to the newspapers or her alumni at the time, out of caution, to avoid any danger of reprisal.
Liz had a 15 year sabbatical to be a full-time Mom for our five kids. The children and I are very proud of her, and still miss her. I feel this may be the time to let you and her classmates know.
