During my 35 years at Wilton Manors Elementary and Lyons Creek Middle School I was responsible for teaching Reading, Mathematics, English, Science, Social Studies, Health, and Computer Technology. I was also voted the NEA and BTU Union Steward for 30 years, Supervisor of the school safety patrols for 23 years, belonged to the math cadre, a design team member, started a Math club, Science club, Rocket club, all after school programs, past member of the Howard Hugh’s Foundation through the Discovery Center of Fort Lauderdale, FL. In addition, I have taught Math and Science and Computer workshops for teacher personal development.
Awards: Received the Who's Who Among America's Teachers five times. Science Teacher of the Year by Sun Sentinel; Voted one of the top ten Science teachers in the State of Florida, (Presidential Award for Elementary Science), for the Space Tomato Seeds Project; nominated 18 times for Teacher of the Year at Wilton Manors Elementary; Math Teacher of the Year at Wilton Manors Elementary, 1998-99;
Outstanding Teacher Award for outstanding ability and dedication in developing a scientific spirit at the elementary school level presented by the Broward Council of Science Educators in1985; Recognition of dedication and creative contributions to the Broward County School System by the Broward Education Foundation. 1990; Teacher of the Month, January 2000.
