Ray Norton
Class of 1986
Air Force, 20+ Years
I started my Air Force career as an Aircraft Electrician in 1988. My first duty station was Moody AFB in Valdosta, GA; working F-4s and F-16s. In 1991 we moved to Elmendorf AFB, Anchorage AK. I started as an Electrical-environmental Specialist. I finished my time there as a Specialist Expediter. In 1999, we moved to Cannon AFB, NM. I served as the 524th Assistant Specialist Flight Chief, Electrical-environmental Section Chief and the Accessory Flight Superintendent. While at Cannon I was selected to attend officer training school and in 2001 I was reassigned to Grand Forks AFB, North Dakota. While at Grand Forks I was the Officer in Charge for a couple of different flights and finished as the Assistant Aircraft Maintenance Unit Officer in Charge. In 2004, We were reassigned to Maxwell AFB, AL. I was selected to be a Flight Commander/Instructor for Air and Space Basic Course. Every 8 weeks I had a new class of 14 Lieutenants. Eventually, I was moved over to curriculum development. In 2008, we all moved to Eglin AFB, FL where I worked in the 46 Test Wing as the Aircraft Maintenance Unit Officer in Charge. In Jan 2011 I moved over to the Air Armament Center to work as the Deputy Chief of Logistics on the QF-4/QF-16 programs. My time at the AAC was short, I received short notice orders to Kunsan Air Base, Republic of Korea. While I was at Kunsan, I was the Maintenance Operations Officer. In Aug 2012 I was selected to be the Maintenance Operations Squadron Commander at Mountain Home AFB, Idaho. In November I moved over the the Equipment Maintenance Squadron as their commander. We shall see where my next assignment takes us.

Thomas Smith
Class of 1986
Army, 20+ Years
Graduated in 1986 with probably the most wonderful bunch of people ever. Spent a long career a JCC (2 semesters) and then joined the Army.
Married Lisa and then retired from the Army 23 years later. Good times and some not, but I will never regret serving my country. There is nothing more meaningful than being downrange and doing your job with all the boys that you support.
Our daughter is graduating college in May. She is smart like her Mother.
We live near Nashville now and like only shoveling snow 3 times a winter.
I hope you all are well.
