I had a chance encounter with Dave in the Mediterranean Sea 1979. I was deployed with 2nd Bn, 8th Marines relieving Dave's unit. It was on the USS Guam, someone was talking about a familiar location in Fairview Park. We were in our racks and he poked his head out, looked up, I poked my head out and looked down. He was two racks below me. I had not seen Dave since 1976. We once again crossed paths on a street in Naples, Italy briefly and have since wondered what ever had become of him. Semper Fi Dave and Rest in Peace.
