Army, 10 Years
Served 6 years on active duty after being drafted and completing Officer Candidate Scool and an additional 4 years in the Ohio National Guard. Ended my service as a Captain. Served in Vietnam in 1971 as a communications officer with the 36th and 52nd signal battalions. Awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star for service in Vn.

I spent 3 years in the Army as an airframe repairman,helicopter gunner,and helicopter crewchief. Spent 2 years in Vietnam with the Air Cavalry and flew in Huey gunships and OH-6A scouts. Spent a year with the Army Guard as an OH-58 crewchief.

I was a munitions technician for F-100s,F-4s and AC-130s. Later became a flying crewchief in AC-130A and H Spectre gunships. My last 20 years were spent as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) and I retired in 2005 with 36 1/2 years service.
