| About Me | Jim Peabody Originally from Stratham, NH Vero Beach, FL & Bretton Woods, NH After graduating from Exeter I attended and graduated from the New England School of Art in Boston thanks to the encouragement from Mrs. Sanborn (Greg’s mom), my high school art instructor and mentor. Exeter gave me a very solid, varied education and a lifelong desire to learn, which has greatly helped me over the past fifty years. I started my professional career as a graphics designer with Ginn Publishing Company in a studio in Amherst, NH. After serving with the US Air Force, NH Air National Guard in communications intelligence, I returned to work and spent several years with Sanders Associates in Nashua, NH. In 1972, I was recruited by Hewlett-Packard to supervise a graphic arts department in Waltham, MA. While at Sanders I started attending Northeastern University, Boston evening program for graphic arts management and graduated shortly after starting work for HP. I had many great opportunities with HP’s Medical Group, including a move to Andover, MA to manage a marketing communications team. I attended Merrimack College evenings for business studies to further my education. While at HP my major accomplishment was to design the HP logo and branding system. The logo is still used today in an evolved design form. HP created a new company, Agilent Technologies, in 2000 and I was asked to be a member of the corporate staff to help create and manage the company’s global Brand Identity. With this new position I worked from a home office splitting my time between New Hampshire and Florida. With 30 years of service at HP/Agilent I retired in 2006 after a rewarding career, many traveled miles, and the opportunity to meet many stimulating and interesting individuals worldwide. While working as a poor, beginning artist I met and married my wife Ann. Ann, a dental hygienist, whose family was very interested in a passion of mine… Antique and Muscle cars! We have two children, a son Garrett and a daughter Ashley, who currently reside in Massachusetts. Ann retired in 2012 to spend more time with our first grandchild Ava, who was born in June, 2011. Ann and I now spend the New England winters at our home in Vero Beach, Florida and come back home to New Hampshire for the summer months. I can truly say that for a shy, late bloomer, I have done what I have loved, I have lived life to the fullest these past 50 years, and I’ve been extremely blessed...(read more) |
