ESJF - New Football/Cheer Program - Revitalize Roosevelt Field

We, Excelsior Springs Junior Football (ESJF), are reaching out to you with hopes that you will consider sponsoring our newly formed football/cheerleading program. By way of sponsorship we mean that anything you will consider helping us with would be greatly appreciated. At this time we are in need of not just monetary donations but field equipment, uniforms and individual player sponsorships as well. Below we have outlined what our program stands for and what we are striving to become.

• ESJF is a newly formed competitive football league for Excelsior Springs’ youth football players in grades 3-7 and for cheerleaders grades K-8. Interested parents and qualified coaches joined together and formed a board to create the junior league with high hopes of becoming a "feeder" program for Excelsior Springs High School.

• The youth league that ESJF will compete in is the West Central League. Our young Tigers will face off against the same teams they will see when they move up in the ranks and play for the high school. Ultimately we want to bring back what Excelsior Springs once had in the glory days of football by starting with our young players and teaching them early on what they need to know to be successful high school ball players.

• ESJF has also gained permission to utilize Roosevelt Stadium. Our teams, all three of them (3/4, 5/6, and 7th grades and our cheerleaders) have set several dates, with the help of the community, to revitalize the stadium. To date we have had close to 90 people (parents, coaches, family members and friends) on two separate occasions join together to help beautify the once-loved stadium, which is now almost ready to play on again.

• We do have to pay for each team to join the MRVC league. It is $460 per team; we also have to provide our own team insurance and will be responsible for providing our own equipment and uniforms. The $460 we will pay to West Central is solely for hiring referees for a six game season (two of which are home games and will be played in Excelsior Springs) and two playoff games (and hopefully a championship game). The money we are requesting will help pay for insurance, uniforms, equipment and hopefully pay for the handful of players who are less fortunate and need a helping hand meeting their ESJF dues ($160 per player).

Justification for Request: We are a new program and really want our young Tigers to become like-minded high school football players with the help of ESHS and the community. We have set several goals and the young athletes who have already signed on to play for us are a great group of kids, both athletically and academically. We plan to ask for assistance from the ESHS coaching staff in creating a "feeder" program and would like to see a partnership develop with the high school's athletes as well. Having some of the ESHS football team helping on our sidelines would go a long way to inspire our young players and cheerleaders. We are requesting funds so that we can get our league off of the ground and begin what we hope will be a successful program for the future of Excelsior Springs football. We are working hard, every day, and fundraising in every way possible. In the future we already have planned a "day of work" at Worlds of Fun, a horseshoe tournament, trash bag sales, car wash, a pledged five-mile run and much more. We have figured the cost per team (this includes league fees, equipment, and uniforms) at nearly $3,072. The cost of insurance (depending on our final number of players and cheerleaders) will be near $1,500. Any amount you are willing to donate will go a long way toward the future of these young athletes and any consideration is greatly appreciated. And, any time that you could donate would be appreciated as well. We plan to take advantage of any early "off season" equipment and uniform sales if at all possible.

• Any sponsorship amount will be greatly appreciated and sponsors will be recognized at all of our games and on our player’s sponsor T-shirts. More information about our sponsors can be found by visiting our Web site at www.ESJuniorfootball.com. Our Web site is updated weekly and also shows the community the hard work and dedication of our staff, athletes, family and fans.

Thank you for your consideration. For any questions, comments or to make a donation to Excelsior Springs Junior Football please contact Jae Juarez at 816-826-6084 or Heather Kindle at 803-4564. ESJF is a non-profit organization and any donation is tax deductible.
