Entered basic training in January 1954 and retired in Novemvber 1984. Commissioned in 1959. Served 38 months in Germany; one tour in Korea; two in Vietnam; the rest of the time was spent in the US. Basic branch was Infantry; highest rank was Colonel (06).

Active Duty Marine from 1984 to 1995, Marine Reserve from 1998 to 2000, field radio operator and Forward air controller. Missouri National Guard, 1107th AVCRAD, 2000 to 2008, Aviation supply tech. Retired with 20 years total service. While serving in the military, participated in Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Operation Restore Hope Somolia, Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

After high school, I enter the United States Air Force. I learned how to become a jet engine mechanic. I was stationed at Travis AFB, CA. from 1974 to 1979. The aircraft that I worked on was the C5A in MAC. I repaired, modified, assembled, and tested the TF-39 GE turbofan jet engines. I left with a honorable discharge as a Staff Sargent.
