Dave Huskins
David Lynn Huskins, 63, of Toledo, was born January 24, 1954, to father Jesse and mother Imelda (Ott) in Metamora, Ohio. His favorite places to be were outside hunting or fishing in the forests, rivers and lakes of Ohio, Michigan and Indiana. A graduate of Evergreen High School, where he played football, he went on to start a family and his own concrete business by the age of 24. From racing dune buggies in the summer in northern Michigan as a teenager to bow hunting whitetail deer and boar, or restoring classic cars and motorcycles, or even becoming a private pilot, he would go for it.
He departed from this life to be with the Lord on September 24, 2017, after struggling several years with heart failure. Our loss of our father, brother and friend is too much to bear, but our comfort is in knowing he is now in heaven's glory, reunited with loved ones also gone too soon before us. He is survived by his three children, Sarah, Jacob and Adam; one granddaughter, Josephine; and one grandson whom we eagerly await.
A celebration of his life and memories will take place Saturday, October 7, 2017, at Lewis Avenue Baptist Church, 6320 Lewis Ave., in Temperance, Michigan, with Family hour at 11 a.m., and a Memorial Service and Prayer at 12 p.m., in the Church Auditorium, which also happens to rest on one of many of Dave's concrete foundations. Refreshments to follow downstairs, and family and close friends will later continue the celebration of David's life at the home of his son, Jake.
