About Me	I enjoy cool evenings, relaxing on a swing, listening to folk music at dusk. I am an avid reader and enjoy Thoreau, Ghandi, Robert Frost, Tolkein, Shakespeare, Tolstoy. My musical favorites are Dylan, Guthrie, Hendrix, Country Joe and the Fish, etc. I am a multifaceted, eclectic and somewhat eccentric woman who is passionate about all life's rich wonders. That includes learning, humane care for all animals, beauty, art, literature and so much more. I have a giving nature, enjoy "living what I believe", but have strong opinions. For many years I was a teacher and taught English, French, and American History in Europe and mainland America. I taught computer science in Hawaii. I have lived in Germany and traveled through Europe, getting lost in the tiny villages, wandering through flower gardens and castles, stumbling across artists setup in fields. For the past decade and longer, I have been involved in exotic animal rescue, predominantly parrots. I am the founder/director of a local adoption program and rescue for exotic birds. During Hurricane Katrina I spent 11 weeks working to find and rescue animals stranded by the waters. That experience left an indelible mark on me. I am a "baby-boomer," an old hippy. I was at Woodstock and was politically active, marching and protesting. I am a humanitarian.
