About	Ola Elmyra Hammett, age 72, of Southside, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024. Funeral Services will be held at Morgan Funeral Chapel, Attalla, on Tuesday, March 19,2024. Visitation will be at 12pm until the time of service at 1pm. Burial will follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Bro. Eldon Mayo to officiate. Elmyra attended Etowah High School and graduated in 1969. She was married to her husband, Jerry Hammett for 49 wonderful years. She enjoyed traveling to the Great Smokey Mountains and camping trips when her children were young. Elmyra loved spending time with her family, friends and chosen companion, Ted. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Hammett; parents, Henry and Elsie Horton; and her brother, Phillip Horton. Elmyra is survived by her daughter, Stacie Raughton (Steve); sons, Todd Hammett (Jodie), and Shane Hammett (Kim); grandchildren, Dakota Hammett (Payton), Tanner Hammett (Cecily), Colin Hammett, Campbell Hammett, Taylor Golden, and Gavin Holderfield; great grandchildren, Piper, Ripken, and Hallie Hammett; sister, Sarah Moore.; and sister-n-laws; Carolyn Pinson (Harvey), Sherry Hornbuckle (Donnie) and Darlene Stanford (Mike); chosen companion, Ted Benefield; and special friend, Jackie Glenn. Pallbearers are Dakota, Tanner, and Colin Hammett, Gavin Holderfield, Taylor Golden, and Steve Raughton. The family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Amedysis Hospice and nurse, Halley Deerman. Morgan Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
