Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard Select Etiwanda High School Graduate’s Film

After hundreds of short film entries from Canon’s Project Imaginat10n, Ron Howard and Bryce Dallas Howard selected “Chucked,” a film directed by Etiwanda High School Graduate, Jared Nelson of Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Canon’s Project Imaginat10n, helmed by Ron Howard, is the first film festival inspired by consumer submitted photographs. Five celebrity directors took part in this user-generated creative exercise: Eva Longoria, Jamie Foxx, Georgina Chapman (designer of Marchesa), James Murphy (former frontman of LCD SOUNDSYSTEM) and Biz Stone (co-founder of Twitter). The program was then opened to consumer directors of all skill levels and Ron and Bryce recently screened the films over an intensive Skype session to ultimately select the five winning consumer director films.

Jared Nelson is a 26 year-old Writer, Director and Cinematographer. In 2012, Jared was a Semi-Finalist for the Student Academy Awards and won the 2012 Boise State Film Festival for his short film, "Paint Me An Expression." Jared’s Project Imaginat10n film, “Chucked” was shot in just one day at a bookstore in Riverside, CA on a Canon EOS 7D camera. At the upcoming premiere event, Jared hopes to ask Ron Howard what it takes to become an Academy Award Winning Director.
