About Me | I was born on the morning of February 29, 1956 to Janelle and Don January. I have two older sisters, Donita and Dedra. I grew up in Costa Mesa,CA living in a single house on State Avenue. I attended Wilson Elementary, Canyon Elementary, Rea Intermediate and Estancia High Schools. After hight school I attended OCC for Dental Assisting. graduating in 1978. In the mean time, I had worked a full time job and dated looking for that very special man to spend my life with. I also competed in the Miss Costa Mesa contest in 1975 and 1976. I returned to church about that time, and met my current husband of 31 years in a Huntington Beach Assembly of GOD church. We have two wonderful kids. Chris is 28 y/o and Krystal is 24 y/o. He has served in the USAF for 6 years and is graduating from Fresno State in the ROTC program for officers training. Krystal is living back on the Central Coast. She is a wonderful server at Olive Garden. We moved to San Luis Obispo to raise our kids in 1990 and lived there for 13 years. I was offered a job there after graduating from Ultrasound school in 1990. Was a nice environment to raise the kids, however it was a difficult place to find work. That is why I started Temporary Agencies. My job sent me all over the nation, and in 2004, I was offered a job in the Valley. That is how we ended up in Madera (near Fresno). Recently my hubby and I have taken up quilting. Yes, he is a quilter too. He, being an engineer by trade, is great at figuring how to measure and cut the pieices and I am happy doing most of the sewing. Although, he picked up on the sewing like a champ. Both our Fall and winter quilts won awards at local quilt shows/Fairs. We are working on three more that we hope to get finished and to the quilter. I lost my mom and dad just 3 months apart 9 yrs ago. That is hard when you lose your loved ones. I felt orphaned following the losses. And a few years later we lost my hubby's mother and then his father. I had the greatest in-laws a girl could ever ask for. God Bless all of their souls. Our son was in England 3 of the 6 years while in the Air Force. When he had only one year to go- my daughter was diagnosed with Thyroid cancer and wanted her brother home. We wrote a letter and he was transfered to Tuscon ,Az. Following her surgery and treatment, she had some trouble with her vocal cords and lost her voive for several months. The surgery was a little more difficult than expected and the cord were traumatized. She did recovery, fully. At that time she wanted to go to Tuscon and live with her brother. They had a good time as roommates and liked what Tuscon had to offer. He taught his sister how to use a gun safely. And as we get older, we all start to fall apart. At least it feels that way. Randy (my hubby) had rt hip replacement in Jan 2011. My right shoulder is having problems, after doing Ultrasound for almost 20 years. With the depressing recession, things aren't going as well as one would hope. You just have to appreciate what you have and count your blessings. God has a plan for each of us and we...(read more) |
