He was born March 31, 1951, in Lubbock. He married Deborah Gail. He graduated from Estacado High School in 1971 in Lubbock. He owned and operated A&H Trucking Service. He served in the Army from 1971 to 1974. He was a member of the Vietnam Vets MC.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Jonnie Russell, Brandy Engle and Amber Haigood; two stepdaughters, Denise and Meagan; his mother, Marie Haigood of Lubbock; two brothers, Wayne and Jim, both of Lubbock; and two sisters, Sue Haigood of Buda and Doris Robinson of Austin.
