About	Jeanette Louise Shelton Carter, 54, of Candler, passed away at her home on May 8, 2026, to be with her heavenly Father. Born on October 7, 1971, in Buncombe County, North Carolina, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Charles Shelton and Maxine Louise Lindsey Shelton and was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Carter, in 2025. Jeanette was a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend who never met a stranger. She loved spending time with her family and treasured every moment she shared with her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed hiking in the mountains, visiting waterfalls, and being outdoors. Jeanette was known for her kind heart, warm conversations, and the goodness she spread to everyone she met. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Bree Carter (Kenny); sons, Matthew King (Lexie), Justin King (Michelle), Andrew King (Hillary), and Brett Carter (Amy); brother, Chuck Shelton; grandchildren, Landon King, Bentley King, Aubree King, Sophia King, Mason King, Charlie King, Lane Reaume, and Paisley Reaume. A private family Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Wells Funeral Home of Canton is honored to be serving the family of Jeanette Louise Carter.
