Wayne E. Neilsen, 77, of Akron went home to be with the Lord on February 4, 2017.
He was born in Akron to the late Eugene and Ruth Neilsen. He served in the US Air Force as a Military Police in England, where he met his lovely wife, Gillian. Wayne
retired from Macy's
after many years of
dedicated service. He was actively involved
in military reenactments, and a member of the Brigade of the American Revolution. He also collected and made all things military.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Jerry; and sister, Judy. Wayne is survived by his wife
of 57 years, Gillian; daughter, Debby; son, Thomas (Rebecca); granddaughters, Sophia and Rachel; brother, Jim (John); nieces, Kristy and Tara (Scott), and their children; and many other relatives and friends.
Family will receive friends on Tuesday February 7, 2017 from 5 - 7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home 131 N. Canton Rd. Akron, OH 44305.
