About	Joyce A. (Whitmer) Pitrone, 73, of Mentor for the past 36 years, died Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born April 14, 1940, in Akron. Mrs. Pitrone was a teacher in the Wadsworth and Mentor School Systems for a number of years. She was a member of St. Gabriel Church in Concord. Joyce enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include her children, Jennifer (Matthew) Fox and Vincent Pitrone, both of Mentor; grandchildren, Madeline Fox, Jillian Fox and Matthew Fox II, Cynthia Moran and Jayden Pitrone; sister, Sally Lympany of Tallmadge; brothers, Donald (Joyce) Whitmer of Mogadore, David (Donna) Whitmer of Akron, Robert (Cynthia) Whitmer of Englewood, Fla., and Roger (Sandra) Whitmer of Cuyahoga Falls; sister-in-law, Mildred Pitrone of Highland Heights. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, John A. Pitrone; parents, Samuel and Helen Whitmer; brothers-in-law, Frank (Cecilia) Pitrone, Carmen (Ruth) Pitrone, Ross Pitrone, Peter (Mollie) Pitrone, Joseph Pitrone and Alan Lympany; and sister-in-law, Mae Tricomi. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday September 11, 2013 at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 9925 Johnnycake Ridge Road, Concord. Interment will be in Mentor Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Brunner Sanden Deitrick Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 8466 Mentor Ave., Mentor, OH 44060. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Foundation Fighting Blindness, 11435 Cronhill Dr., Owings Mills, MD 21117-2220.
