GREEN -- Kenneth C. Harland, "Poppy"; 72, passed away October 19th 2012 surrounded by family.

He is survived by his beloved wife Janet (Johnson) of over 48 years, and seven children; Ruth Harland (Mark) Casseday of Alpharetta, Georgia, Thomas (Judy) Harland of Wooster, Ohio, Loretta Harland (Sheila Martin) of Peninsula, Ohio, Christina Harland (Ed) Johnson of North Canton, Ohio, Ken (Kara) Harland II of

Uniontown, Ohio, Tim Harland (Julie Lasky) of Akron, Ohio and Bill (Tricia) Harland of Akron, Ohio, and 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; Harley L. Harland and Loretta T. Harland. He also was survived by five siblings; Francis Harland, Genevieve Hanlon, Mary Louise Wohlwend, Bernard Harland, and Joann Pryor.

After graduating from Ellet High School in 1958, he joined the Air Force Reserves and the Ohio Air National Guard before beginning a career he loved in manufacturing engineering. He attended Stark State College and worked for various companies for over 40 years, including NRM, previously in Tallmadge, Ohio, Akron Brass in Wooster Ohio, and SemTorq in Aurora, Ohio.

His passions in life were the outdoors, spending time with his family, fishing, gardening, his model trains, and fixing almost anything.

As a member of Queen of Heaven Parish for over 40 years, he served as a Eucharistic Minister, a PSR teacher and an Usher.

He was sincerely loved and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends on Monday, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the Anthony Funeral Home GREEN CHAPEL (at Rt. 241 & Steese Rd., entrance off of Steese). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. David Durkee on Tuesday, 10 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green. Interment will follow at Hillside Memorial Park.
