About	James F. ""Jim"" Mills BONITA SPRINGS, FL. -- James F. "Jim" Mills, 70, of Bonita Springs, died Thursday, September 30, 2010. Formerly of Akron, Ohio, he had been a Bonita resident for the last 29 years. He was born June 6, 1940 in Akron, the son of Charles Edward and Mable Catherine (Smith) Mills. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Jim, "Captain Jimmy" to close friends and family, was an avid boater, scuba diver, fisherman, hunter, adventurer, outdoorsman and he was always perfecting his game of blackjack. As much as he loved all of those things, he cherished spending good times with his beloved family and friends the most. Everyone who knew him fondly remember him as a friend, mentor, teacher, patriarch, hard worker, positive role model and lover of life. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Betty A. (Hogue) Mills; his beloved children, Mark S. and Maureen Mills of Punta Gorda, FL, Daniel J. and Jill Mills, Sheri Ann and Kevin Bess and Teresa Lee and Dan Ano, all of Bonita Springs; sisters, Doris Boyd, Pauline Sirochman, Donna Hickman, Ruth Fassnacht and Betty Napier; ten grandchildren: Tyler Bess, Jennifer Bess, Marcus Mills, Joseph Bess, Daniel Ano, Douglas Ano, Randy Paolo, Johnny Vertichio, Tabetha Bess, Kayla Greensky; and one great grandson, Brandon Paolo. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother, Robert Mills. A memorial celebration of life will be held Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 1 P.M. at the home of Teresa and Dan Ano, 10191 River Drive, Bonita Springs, FL 34135. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The Jim Mills Memorial Fund at any Fifth Third Bank.
