About Me	I was in the famous Japanese American U.S. Army's 442nd Regimental Combat Team (to receive the Congressional Gold Medal in November, 2011; Art Teach at Whittier High School (1952-63) was honored as Teacher of the Year by the Whittier and San Gabriel Valley District of Women's Clubs in1960; First faculty to sign a contract with Rio Hondo College and served as Professor of Art, Chairman of the Fine Arts Dept., appointed a Dean and retired as a Vice President, received many honors, including "National Person of The Year" by the National Council of Community Services and Continuing Education; was given his "43 EMHS diploma in 1999 due to internment of Japanese Americans during WWII; named "Fellow of the College" by the Trustees of Rio Hondo College in 1999; also an award winning artist who has exhibited his work locally and nationally and recognized for his contribution to the arts, including the Whittier Cultural Arts Foundation's Honors Night in 2005 and was awarded by the dedication of t...(read more)
