Cause: Cancer. Lived in Topock, Arizona with husband, Clyde Hammond, who also graduated from El Monte High School. The couple, who had three sons, lived in Baldwin Park before retiring in Topock.
Judy Hammond '66 said:
Marilyn was one of my best friends in high school. We served together on the Lions Trail newspaper staff. I thought she would make a good match for my cousin, Clyde Hammond, who had graduated from EMHS two years prior. I was right -- they ended up getting married and having three sons. They lived in Baldwin Park until retiring in Topock, Arizona, where she passed away in 2022. -- Judy Hammond
