Mark Andre LaFontaine, 39, a former Yakima resident, died Friday as the result of an automobile accident in Idaho.

Mr. LaFontaine was born, raised and educated in Yakima and graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1981. After college, Mr. LaFontaine moved to Phoenix, Ariz., where he began a career with Smiths grocery store. For the past four years, he lived in Salt Lake City, where he was a district manager for the company.

Survivors include one daughter, Krystal Lynn LaFontaine, 9, and one son, Lucas Joseph LaFontaine, 7, both of Glendale, Ariz.; parents Vern and Laureen LaFontaine of Yakima; one brother, Jay Allen LaFontaine of Yakima; his grandmother, Germaine Karnes of Yakima; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Langevin-Mussetter Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
