This is being posted by her Sister, Katherine Hazelwood / Whitley. Sandy passed very PEACEFULLY in her sleep in Fayetteville, NC on Oct 15, 2024. It was determined that she had a heart attack is her sleep. I was able to speak to the lady that found her and she said her cover was not even disturbed. This gives me great peace. Sandy was a German Certified chef and was awarded the GOLD CROSSED SILVERWARE PIN. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Edwin Leahy. He also passed with a heart attack. Sandy was a little lost soul when her husband passed away and she still carried a photo of them together in her purse. She could never settle after his death and I never knew where she would call me from next. Sandy lived life the way SHE wanted to live it and God protected her through it all. She is the 1st of us 6 girls to pass away. She was cremated and has been laid to rest in our Mothers grave at Garland Brook Cemetery in Edinburgh, Indiana. She is missed by us all.
