Trudy Elizabeth West was born on December 14, 1950. She was the only child of May (Chandler) West and James West. She grew up in Palmer Township and graduated from Easton Area High School in 1968. Trudy graduated from Slippery Rock University in 1972 with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics. She was also a member of the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority.
Trudy obtained her Bachelor's degree in Economics and worked at the former Valley Federal Savings and Loan Bank in Palmer. She then put herself through night school to obtain her Master's degree in Education. She worked as a student teacher and substitute teacher in the Easton Area School District, as a teacher aide at the Career Institute of Technology, as a teacher at an innovative Lehigh Valley School-To-work Program, and spent years as an 8th grade English Teacher at Holland Township School in Milford, NJ.

Trudy and Gary recently celebrated 21 wonderful years of marriage. They enjoyed traveling and going out to eat, having taken a great deal of trips over the years together. Trudy also went on many mother-daughter trips with Erica. She had a passion for the homeless and regularly donated to local Rescue Missions
Trudy loved the beach, specifically Lavallette and Seaside Park, NJ. Trudy's favorite TV show was I Love Lucy, and she knew each episode by heart. Trudy was an avid reader and loved books and going to the Palmer Library. She was very musically inclined, having a passion for music, singing, dancing, and watching Broadway Musicals. She didn't miss the annual high school musical in Easton. Trudy had a strong faith and was a longtime member of Palmer Moravian Church and over her many years there served in various capacities: choir member, Sacristan, Sunday School and Bible School Teacher, and helping at many Church Fundraisers
Her greatest achievement was being a mother and grandmother. She loved spending time with her daughter and grandsons, reading with them, going shopping, out to eat at various places, attending local festivals, and their annual beach trip. Trudy also loved animals, especially dogs. She is with her dog Bella and other family dogs in Heaven now.

Trudy's family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to her family doctor at LVHN, her CRNP at Penn, caregivers Juli, Tina, and Maria at Kindhearted Hands, and the entire staff of Family Pillars Hospice.
