About | Joy Ann Tiley passed away peacefully on October 1, 2004, after an 18-month battle with brain cancer. She was born on August 4, 1950, in Pottsville to Jean (Osenbach) Tiley of Easton and the late George Tiley. She grew up in Palmer Township and graduated from Easton High School in 1968. She went on to become a beautician after completing Empire Beauty School. Although she was always happy to style a friends hair, her career changed paths when she went to work for OPT Industries in 1978, where she assembled and tested electronic products for more than 20 years. She enjoyed many of the simple pleasures in life. Her favorite place was the family cabin in Slate Run, where she could enjoy the view of the mountains and get away from everyday life. She also loved lighthouses, and although ill, she was able to enjoy a vacation with her family last summer, visiting more than a dozen lighthouses on the Eastern seaboard. She also loved music. As a young member of Memorial U.C.C. in Wilson, she was a choir member for many years. She occasionally played the piano and organ during church services. After moving to Nazareth, she joined St. Johns U.C.C. She continued singing in the choir, but especially enjoyed her many years ringing in the handbell choir. Although she loved many things in life, none were as important to her as her family. Waiting for her in Heaven are her grandparents and father. Her mother selflessly cared for her throughout her illness. Many thanks go out to everyone who supported her during her illness. Her family would like to extend special thanks to Lehigh Valley Hospice, especially Daisy and Doris, for all the loving care and support they gave Joy. Survivors: Mother; brother, Keith Tiley of Easton; daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Scott Latsha of Binghamton, N.Y.; her granddaughters, the three shining stars of her life, Taylor, Melanie and Chaise will miss their Nanny Joy - anyone who knew Joy knew that she would go to the ends of the earth for her girls; many aunts and uncles, cousins, friends, and two cats will also miss her.
