James R. Starner, 65, of Lower Mt. Bethel Township, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Newark Beth Israel Medical Center. Born: June 18, 1949 in Pen Argyl, PA, he was a son of the late Lester and Violet Kellow Starner. Personal: He and his wife, the former Roxann "Rocky" Hayes, celebrated their 31st wedding anniversary on March 5, 2014. Jim was a self-employed painter. He was a 1968 graduate of Easton Area High School. Jim enjoyed barrel racing, playing pool, riding horses and was a #1 flag racer. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved making eggies for his granddaughter. Memberships: He was a member of Forks United Church of Christ. Jim was a member of Starner Mountain Hunting Club, Slate Belt Men's Pool League, A.P.A, T.A.P and various area clubs. He was a former member of E.P.G.A. Survivors: In addition to his wife Rocky, he is survived by a son, Joshua J. and his wife Heather, of Forks Township; a brother, Dale and his wife Kim, of Forks Township; three sisters, Rita Gallagher and her husband Mark, of the Poconos, Bonnie and Pat Starner, both of Easton; a granddaughter, Raven Anderson; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Loretta Starner. Services: 6pm Monday in Fork's U.C.C., 4500 Sullivan Trail, Stockertown. Call Monday 4-6pm in the church.
