About	Richard Jay Seidel passed away on Nov 12th, 2015 at his home in Washington, DC at the age of 65. He was the son of the late Irvin and Reba Seidel of Easton, PA and is survived by his sister, Gail Levine formerly of Allentown, and now of Florida. His wife, Caren Kaplan, preceded him in death just 6 months prior to his own. They both bravely fought their battles with cancer. Richard graduated from Easton Area High School, attended Lafayette College, graduated from University of Pittsburgh and Duquesne Law School. Following a brief law career, he became assistant circuit executive for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals in Philadelphia and advanced to the position of System Designer at the Federal Judiciary. From early on his childhood, Richard was a talented musician and he played in multiple bands and genres even up until the last few weeks of his life. Recently, Richard and Caren founded an after-school music program for at-risk youth in the DC area. A devoted cyclist, he traveled the country taking on the most difficult challenges. Richard will be greatly missed by his family, including his niece, Beth Levine Ain and his nephew, Michael Levine, and their children, as well as his many truly devoted friends.
