Dennis Lockhart is the President and CEO of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta. In addition he serves on the Federal Reserves chief monetary policy board and the Federal Open Market Committee. From 2003 to 2007, Lockhart served on the faculty of Georgetown Universitys School of Foreign Service. Teachin in the masters program. He was also an adjunct professor at Johns Hopkins Universitys School of Advanced International Studies.From 2001 to 2003 Lockhart was managing pardner at the private equity firm Zephyr management LP, which is based in New York and with activity in Africa and latin America. Prior to that he worked for 13 years at Heler Finiancial. Where he ws prssicent of Heller International Group. In 2000 he served as chairman of the advisory committee of the U.S. Export-Import Bank From 1971 to 1988 Lockhart held various positions both domestic and International with Citigroup He worked in the Middle East, in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia , Greece and Iran. From 1978 to 1986 he served in Atlanta as Citicorps senior corporate officer. Lockhart serves on the board of directors and executive committee of the metro Atlanta Chamer of Commerce, on the board of directors of St. Josephs Health system and as a trustee of Agnes Scott College and Atlanta International /School. He also chairs the World Affairs Council of Atlanta and the Midtown Alliance. Lockhart was born in Bakersfield California in 1947 and graduated from East Bakersfield High School in 1964. He earned a BA in political science from Standford in 1968 and a MA in international economics snd American foriegn policy from John Hopkins school of Advanced studies in 1971. He also attended the Senior Executive program at MIT Sloan Cchool of Management in 1994.
