About	Obituaries for June 1, 2008 Saturday, May 31, 2008 Ernest Alton "Skip" Simpson Jr., 49, of Newbern, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at Wesley Care Center in Dyersburg. He was an employee of Townecraft. Services were at 10 a.m. Saturday in the chapel of Johnson-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. John Poor officiating. Burial was in Church Grove Cemetery. Survivors include two daughters, Angel Marie Simpson of Murfreesboro and Victoria Grace Simpson of Manatachie, Miss.; two sons, Jimmy "Ross" Simpson of Manatachie, Miss. and Shane Allen Simpson and wife, Sara, of Newbern; his parents, Ernest Alton Simpson Sr. and Emma "Jean" Poor Simpson; three sisters, Joan Simpson Huie of Newbern, Jane Simpson Hyde of Dyersburg and Tina Marie Simpson of Memphis; and a granddaughter, Taylor Riggs of Newbern; seven nieces and nephews; and nine great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Lukas Allen Simpson. Pallbearers were Tyler Huie, Walker Huie, Joe Prichard, John Warren, Marty Hurst, Randal Hurst, Brad Hurst and Franklin Hurst. Honorary pallbearers were John Huie and Terry Hyde.
