| About Me | I joined the Navy in the summer of 1973 and operated Nuclear Power Plants on Submarines and Cruisers. I have seen the world from Vietnam to Athens and the country from Charleston to San Francisco. During my tour onboard Seawolf, a special projects submarine, we had a nasty casualty; a fire in the engineroom. This event is forever recorded in the book Blind Mans Bluff: The Untold Story of American Submarine Espionage. I was awarded a commendation, signed by the Pacific Fleet Commander, for my participation (surviving) in that event. I also received several Navy Expeditionary medals for operations within Russias12 mile limit in the late 1970s, operations supporting Regans little war with Libyas Maummar Gaddafi in the early 1980s and the 1st burning of Beirut in the mid 1980s. I left the Navy in 1984 and have worked and traveled across the continental US. I completed commercial reactor start ups in Raleigh, NC; chemical plant software upgrades in Albany, NY; defense related nuclear waste disposal in Carlsbad, NM; restarted the Pillsbury plant that makes Toaster Strudels in Murfreesboro, TN; defense related nuclear remediation and clean up in Richland, WA, Bio-Diesel plant start up in Clovis, NM, power plant operation management in Longview, TX; and operations consulting in Taichung Taiwan.
