Survivors include his wife, Louise Rurode of Custer; one son, Ryan Rurode, Custer; two daughters, Michelle Stanek, Virginia Beach, Va., and Christine Rurode, Custer; one brother, David Rurode, Wausau, Wis.; and two grandchildren.
