Jay's wife, Brenda, called me with the heartbreaking news of his passing in August this year (2023). He had a couple of falls during which he hit his head. After a few days of not feeling better, he went to the hospital where he passed away on August 5th. I had the pleasure of being his friend since 10th grade and we visited each other a few times over the years, staying in touch, meeting each other's families. The last was when he came to visit me here in Virginia so we could go to a Mark Knopfler concert, leaving Brenda to take care of the pets back home in Texas. We had a wonderful time and I am so glad that the last time I saw him was all about a bunch of laughs and good music. I miss him and have many great memories going way back. Rest in Peace, Jay.

Very sad to see that Jay had passed away. I played golf with him on the DHS golf team. He was great to be with as he was a lot of fun. I had not talked with him in a year or so. I am sorry for Benda’s loss. Very difficult to write this now.. so many memories/ laughs. RIP Jay.. see you on the back nine! Bill Moe , Class 71..
